The President of the United States has indicated the exit door to his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
Donald Trump fired his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Tuesday, March 13, and replaced him with CIA chief Mike Pompeo.
Known for his anti-Iranian tendencies, Mike Pompeo will now take the reins of American diplomacy to replace Rex Tillerson who did not share the same views as Donald Trump on the nuclear agreement and the Russian file.
Rumors had circulated since his inauguration of his dismissal, especially after the US media revealed that Tillerson had called Trump “idiotic”.
The US president has repeatedly thrown flowers at Mike Pompeo, saying he had recorded a “fantastic record” in the CIA.
Mike Pompeo was replaced by Ms. Gina Haspel, who became the first woman to assume the position of director of the CIA.
