Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah

Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah and head of the General Intelligence Service (Maj. Gen. Majid Faraj) escaped Tuesday from an assassination attempt in the Gaza Strip, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
The Palestinian Interior Ministry issued a statement saying that “the explosion, which targeted Hamadullah occurred while his motorcade passed through Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza, causing no injuries and the convoy continued on its way.”
The Interior Ministry announced that it was investigating the circumstances of the blast.
In turn, the Palestinian presidency issued a statement accusing Hamas of targeting the convoy of Prime Minister Rami al-Hamdallah in the Gaza Strip.
It is expected that the Palestinian prime minister will hold a number of meetings in the Gaza Strip in light of the slow pace of Palestinian reconciliation.
