Tehran (ISNA) – In a message to his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Hassan Rohani, expressed his condolences following the crash of the Russian transport aircraft Antonov An-26 and the death of its passengers.
“I am saddened by the crash of the Russian Antonov An-26 transport aircraft, which caused the death of some of your compatriots,” Rohani said in a message of condolence addressed to the Russian president.
“I express my condolences and my sympathy to the families of the victims of the accident, I wish patience for the survivors and I wish you good health and success,” he wrote in this message.
On Tuesday, March 6, 2018, an Antonov An-26 tactical transport plane crashed during its landing phase causing the death of 39 passengers and crew members on board. The tragedy took place at Syrian air base Hmeimim in the north-west of the country.
