Tehran (ISNA) – In reference to the attack on Iran’s embassy in London, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the incident is being examined and the British government is obliged to protect the diplomatic representations and life of Iranian diplomats.
“We are examining this aggression via the Iranian Embassy in London and the United Kingdom Embassy in Tehran,” said Bahram Qassemi, spokesman for Iranian diplomacy.
“The British government must take seriously the protection of diplomatic representations and life of Iranian diplomats and stop the perpetrators of this attack as soon as possible,” said Qassemi.
“Contrary to reports, the Iranian embassy in London has not been occupied, but a small number of troublemakers have entered the Iranian representation before going to the balcony to lower the flag and hoist instead their banner, “said Qassemi.
“A few minutes ago, a number of supporters of the Chirazi sect stormed the Iranian embassy. They broke the flag of Iran. They are chanting slogans against the Iranian authorities and insulting Aicha, Abu Bakr and Othman. They had on them sticks and axes. The police went there, “Iran’s ambassador to London Hamid Baeidinejad wrote on his Twitter page.
The attackers were arrested.
The Shirazi sect is also known as “British Shiites”. This sect claims the teachings of Ayatollah Sadiq Shirazi.
His supporters, including Yasser Habib, owner of the satellite television channel al-Fadak, usually broadcast programs sowing division in the world of Islam. This channel broadcast live the attack on the Iranian embassy in London.
The Supreme Leader of the Revolution said last year: “The radio and television channels that emerge every day in the Muslim world to curse in the name of Shiism the eminent personalities of other Islamic schools are funded by the British Treasury. ”
It is expected that with the convening of the British Ambassador, the Iranian Foreign Ministry will convey Tehran’s protests against London’s negligence in its mission to protect Iran’s diplomatic presentations.
