The Director of Communications of the White House, Hope Hicks, has resigned this Wednesday after having recognized that, to exercise her position, she was forced to say ‘white lies’ to defend the controversial president of the United States, Donald Trump.
“There are no words to express my gratitude to President Trump. I wish him and the Government the best as long as they continue to lead our country, “reads the resignation note issued by Hicks, in which he also insists that he has been considering resigning for several months.
However, her resignation comes just a day after, during an appearance before the Intelligence Committee of the US House of Representatives, she acknowledged that her job for Trump, from time to time, required her to say ” White Lies”.
The interrogation, which lasted more than eight hours, was not very productive for the panel of congressmen, since Hicks refused to answer questions to the investigators about the interference of the Russian campaign and presumable contacts of Trump’s campaign with agents linked to the Kremlin, the legislators indicated.
There are no words to express my gratitude to President Trump. I wish him and the Government the best as long as they continue to lead our country, “reads the resignation note released by White House Communications Director Hope Hicks.
“There are some questions he will not answer. I think he will not say anything that has to do with the Administration, from the moment of the transition, “said the former director of communications of the White House, according to the US network CNN.
The US Congress has opened a line of investigation in relation to the alleged interference by Russia in the presidential elections, in which the then Republican candidate beat his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, while the investigations of the Federal Bureau of Investigation continue (FBI) , for its acronym in English) in this regard.
Russia has denied its alleged participation in this plot and considers that these accusations only serve Washington to try to pave the way to intensify the anti-Russian pressure.
