Saudi Arabia has targeted a humanitarian convoy of the World Food Program in Yemen.
The anti-Yemeni military coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, admitted, Thursday, February 22 evening, hit the night before, two vehicles and a truck, loaded with food, in the south of the province of Saada.
The Saudi coalition has issued a statement to defend the bombing of a humanitarian convoy of the World Food Program (WFP).
“What was bombed, the day and the place indicated by the media, was a legitimate target. What the coalition bombed was a checkpoint belonging to Iranian-backed armed Huthi militiamen. They were not civilians, “said the statement, which acknowledges that the coalition later learned that the truck belonged to WFP.
“The truck was damaged because it did not ask for permission to travel in the conflict zone. This contradicts the principles of coordination between Joint Coalition Command and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen, “adds the text.
According to several sources of information, most of the bombing targets of the Saudi coalition are of a civilian nature.
Hospitals, schools, ceremonial halls, power plants, civilian neighborhoods, civilian vehicles, bridges and infrastructure are all part of non-military targets targeted by the Saudi coalition’s fighter jets.
