Tehran, Feb. 21, IRNA – A number of rioters have been prevented from rallying again in northeastern Tehran thanks to police vigilance, an informed source of Tehran’s internal security force said Tuesday.
The rioters, as part of their actions to disrupt public order and sabotage public property, had widely called people on social networks to hold a protest rally Tuesday at 18h, according to the source.
She added that the internal security forces in Tehran working to restore order and public safety and bring comfort to citizens, thwarted this attempt with a clever security measure.
The official said that three members of the security forces as well as two of Basij’s forces had fallen into martyrdom during the riots and that more than 300 people had been arrested.
The internal security forces, in order to maintain security and public order and safeguard public and private property, responded legally and firmly to the rioters, he said.
