Alwaght- The prominent Arab journalist, Abdel Bari Atwan, declared that an alliance between Shiites and Sunnis in defense of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) has irritated the United States.
This was also stated by the editor of the Arabic newspaper ‘Rai al-Youm’ in an article written on the matter, referring to the new anti-Iranian accusations of the United States ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Nikki Haley. , who alleged that Iran supplied the missile that the Yemeni Army fired last November against the airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
According to Atwan, these allegations by the United States are aimed at diverting public attention from the recognition of Al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime by Washington and ignoring the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Turkish city of Istanbul and the alliance between Shiites and Sunnis in defense of Al-Quds.
He also asserted that Haley’s statements have heightened tensions and further fueled the campaign of the United States and its allies against Iran, which only seeks to unleash an ethnic war in the Middle East region to achieve its objectives and interests.
In this context, Atwan stated that these allegations occur while during some three years of Saudi Arabia’s war against Yemen, Riyadh has purchased thousands of tons of ammunition, missiles and modern aircraft worth hundreds of billions of dollars and the has used against this small country of the Persian Gulf.
Finally, he underscored that the government of US President Donad Trump has been unsuccessful both inside and outside the US, referring to the issues of Al-Quds and North Korea, among other issues.
On December 6, Trump recognized the occupied city of Al-Quds as the capital of the Israeli regime and ordered the relocation to this city of the United States Embassy.
