South African President Jacob Zuma

Since the election of Cyril Ramafosa, vice president, as leader of the party in December, Zuma is facing calls from his party to end his second scandal-ridden term, which is due to end in mid-2019, according to Reuters.
The party’s executive committee has the authority to issue an order to step down as president, but there are local media reports indicating that it may refuse to do so.
The South African Broadcasting Corporation (ANC) said the African National Congress (ANC) had given President Zuma 48 hours to resign, the radio said on Monday (February 12th) that the party’s meeting lasted 8 hours, Reuters said.
It quoted sources as saying that party leader Cyril Ramavosa had gone to the headquarters of President Jacob Zuma to deliver the message personally.
