According to the Tasnim agency that the Russian president signed a federal law provides for the recognition of the agreement between Russia and Iran with regard to the convicted. This decision was published after the Russian president signed the official website of the Russian government and is under implementation. The agreement signed between Tehran and Moscow in March 2017 aims at strengthening legal cooperation between the two countries in the field of exchanging convicted persons between the two countries.
According to this document, convicted or accused persons facing prison sentences may be transferred to their country to serve their sentence there. The convicted person or judge in either State may also apply for it, and the receiving country of the accused person will have to agree to continue the judicial proceedings of that person in accordance with the applicable law.
